

Jeffrey L. Hill
Jeffrey L. Hill was born in New Hartford, NY. After graduating from New Hartford Central Schools, he went on to college at Syracuse University, receiving a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science in 1969. He received his Juris Doctor Degree from the Syracuse University College of Law in 1974, and was admitted to the New York State Bar in 1975.
Following graduation, Jeffrey became an associate for the Syracuse-based law firm of Lowery, Carrigan and Keough. In 1976, while still with the firm, he was appointed as a part-time Assistant Counsel to the Speaker of the New York State Assembly. That marked a phase of his career in which he served in positions of increasing responsibility in the New York State Court of Claims and New York State Assembly, including Counsel to the Majority Conference, Home Rule Counsel, Parliamentarian, and Counsel to Majority Leaders Daniel B. Walsh and James R. Tallon.
In 1988, Jeffrey joined the Albany law firm of DeGraff, Foy, Holt-Harris & Mealey as a partner, where he practiced law in the legislative area. In 1993, Jeffrey, together with Thomas J. Gosdeck, and John W. Vandervort, formed a new lobbying firm known as Vandervort, Hill & Gosdeck. At the same time, Jeffrey and Thomas Gosdeck formed a new law firm called Hill and Gosdeck, which has evolved into the professional advocacy firm known today as Hill, Gosdeck, Mcgraw and Nemeth.
Jeffrey is an active member of the New York State Business Council’s Steering Committee. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the University Club of Albany, Fort Orange Club, and the Mohawk-Hudson Yacht Club, where he currently holds the office of Treasurer. His long history of community
service includes serving President of the Board of Directors of New Hartford Youth Hockey Association, assisting the United Food and Commercial Workers District Union Local 1 with the highly successful "One
Charity Golf Classic" and fundraising on behalf of the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. He currently serves on the organization committees for the Speaker'sCup golf tournament, The Assembly MinorityGolf Outing and the Senate Democratic Golf Outing. He has also served as Commodore of the Awenke Yacht Club and is currently the Chair of its Board of Governors.
Jeffrey is married to the former Barbara Ann Jones of Utica, New York; together they have four children. They reside in Loudonville, New York.
